Cape Cod Kitchen
charm and function meet in Ne Portland
Cape Cod kitchen
This 1949 Cape Cod Kitchen was poorly remodeled just 5 years prior, so we set out to make it right and add some personality. The cheery geometric tile from Pratt & Larson is the star of the show and adds just the right amount of color to the Walnut and white painted cabinetry. A two foot Box Bay bump out was added in place of the existing Bay window, so not only did the usable space increase, but there is a clear view of the backyard—now a favorite place to sit.
By removing a 5’ slider and adding a door, a pantry and Doggie café now fit in the corner. A new pergola to cover the outdoor living space and an awning above the door increase functionality and narrow, open shelving tucked into the corner takes care of previously unusable space.
